According to the Ministry of Health Malaysia, every pharmaceutical and traditional medicine products are required to be analysed for heavy metals contamination under the regulations by National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA)

In the Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practice for Traditional Medicines and Health Supplements; Malaysia 1st Edition 2008 Chapter 6-7; every manufacturer should have a quality control system to ensure their products will continue to meet the established specifications. Product Manufacturer/Registration holders can have their products tested by contract laboratories.
